Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is approaching, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Soon after these things, his master’s wife took notice of ¹  Joseph and said, “Have sex with me.” ² 

She grabbed him by his outer garment, saying, “Have sex with me!” But he left his outer garment in her hand and ran ¹  outside. ² 

Then he fell asleep again and had a second dream: There were seven heads of grain growing ¹  on one stalk, healthy ²  and good.

Anyone who lies down in the house must wash his clothes. Anyone who eats in the house must wash his clothes.

When they came down from the high place to the town, Samuel spoke with Saul on the roof.

If a decision is not made, ¹  when my master the king is buried with his ancestors, ²  my son Solomon and I ³  will be considered state criminals.” ⁴ 

and as they sailed he fell asleep. Now a violent windstorm ¹  came down on the lake, ²  and the boat ³  started filling up with water, and they were in danger.

For David, after he had served ¹  God’s purpose in his own generation, died, ²  was buried with his ancestors, ³  and experienced ⁴  decay,

in hard work and toil, ¹  through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, many times without food, in cold and without enough clothing. ² 

For everything made evident is light, and for this reason it says: ¹  “Awake, ²  O sleeper! ³  Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!” ⁴ 

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that ¹  God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians. ² 

He turned aside to her along the road and said, “Come on! I want to have sex with you.” ¹  (He did not realize ²  it was his daughter-in-law.) She asked, “What will you give me in exchange for having sex with you?” ³ 

This woman’s child suffocated ¹  during the night when she rolled ²  on top of him.

There ¹  the prisoners ²  relax ³  together; ⁴  they do not hear the voice of the oppressor. ⁵ 

They live out ¹  their years in prosperity and go down ²  to the grave ³  in peace.

Do not long for the cover of night to drag people away from their homes. ¹ 

The Lord laughs in disgust ¹  at them, for he knows that their day is coming. ² 

When the sun rises, they withdraw and sleep ¹  in their dens.

He came again and found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open. ¹
