And there are times when I promise to build up and establish ¹  a nation or kingdom.

Once again you will plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria. ¹  Those who plant them will once again enjoy their fruit. ² 

We have not built any houses to live in. We do not own any vineyards, fields, or crops.

You must not plant any kind of tree as a sacred Asherah pole ¹  near the altar of the Lord your God which you build for yourself.

They were the potters who lived in Netaim and Gederah; they lived there and worked for the king. ¹ 

He established a rule ¹  in Jacob; he set up a law in Israel. He commanded our ancestors to make his deeds known to their descendants, ² 

along with the plants by the mouth of the river. ¹  All the cultivated land near the river will turn to dust and be blown away. ² 

I will make cedars, acacias, myrtles, and olive trees grow in the wilderness; I will make evergreens, firs, and cypresses grow together in the desert.

Many foreign rulers ¹  will ruin the land where I planted my people. ²  They will trample all over my chosen land. ³  They will turn my beautiful land into a desolate wasteland.

Though I scatter ¹  them among the nations, they will remember in far-off places – they and their children will sprout forth and return.

and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.

But ¹  other seed fell on good soil and produced grain, sprouting and growing; some yielded thirty times as much, some sixty, and some a hundred times.”
