Then I said, “I am sickened by the thought that the sovereign One ¹  might become inactive. ² 

He remembered ¹  that they were made of flesh, and were like a wind that blows past and does not return. ² 

When ¹  I cried out for help, you answered me. You made me bold and energized me. ² 

You carefully observe me when I travel or when I lie down to rest; ¹  you are aware of everything I do. ² 

Their life’s breath departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans die. ¹ 

The wicked person ¹  earns ²  deceitful wages, ³  but the one who sows ⁴  righteousness reaps ⁵  a genuine ⁶  reward. ⁷ 

A person has joy ¹  in giving an appropriate answer, ²  and a word at the right time ³  – how good it is!

Micaiah, who was the son of Gemariah and the grandson of Shaphan, heard Baruch read from the scroll everything the Lord had said. ¹ 

There at home they will say, ‘Pharaoh king of Egypt is just a big noise! ¹  He has let the most opportune moment pass by.’ ² 

From that time Jesus began to preach this message: ¹  “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

And which of you by worrying can add even one hour to his life? ¹ 

She ¹  came up behind Jesus ²  and touched the edge ³  of his cloak, ⁴  and at once the bleeding ⁵  stopped.

Her ¹  spirit returned, ²  and she got up immediately. Then ³  he told them to give her something to eat.

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” ¹ 

Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world ¹  will be driven out. ² 

When he said this, ¹  an argument ²  began ³  between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.

So, I find the law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me.

I wish that you would be patient with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you are being patient with me!

For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
