Then the house of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God, from that day forward.

I tell you the truth, ¹  this generation ²  will not pass away until all these things take place.

In the resurrection, when they rise again, ¹  whose wife will she be? For all seven had married her.” ²

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you too were called to the one hope of your calling,

teaching about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

Then ¹  they ²  told me: “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, ³  languages, and kings.”

We said, ‘If in the future they say such a thing ¹  to us or to our descendants, we will reply, “See the model of the Lord’s altar that our ancestors ²  made, not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a reminder to us and you.”’ ³ 

After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come to a land restored from the ravages of war, ¹  with many peoples gathered on the mountains of Israel that had long been in ruins. Its people ²  were brought out from the peoples, and all of them will be living securely.

Any children that you father ¹  after them will be yours; they will be listed ²  under the names of their brothers in their inheritance. ³ 

No longer may the Israelites approach the tent of meeting, or else they will bear their sin ¹  and die.

In fact, days are coming when I will remove your strength ¹  and the strength ²  of your father’s house. There will not be an old man in your house!

May the Lord God of Israel be praised, in the future and forevermore. ¹  Then all the people said, “We agree! ²  Praise the Lord!”

Consider its defenses! ¹  Walk through ²  its fortresses, so you can tell the next generation about it! ³ 

so that the next generation, children yet to be born, might know about them. They will grow up and tell their descendants about them. ¹ 

The Lord God of Israel deserves praise, ¹  in the future and forevermore. ²  Let all the people say, “We agree! ³  Praise the Lord!” ⁴ 

The prince who is a great oppressor lacks wisdom, ¹  but the one who hates ²  unjust gain will prolong his days.

Whatever exists now has already been, and whatever will be has already been; for God will seek to do again ¹  what has occurred ²  in the past. ³
