Pairs ¹  of all creatures ²  that have the breath of life came into the ark to Noah.

“You are to take the ram of the consecration and cook ¹  its meat in a holy place. ² 

but the leftovers from the meat of the sacrifice must be burned up in the fire ¹  on the third day.

You must not eat from their meat and you must not touch their carcasses; ¹  they are unclean to you.

“Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all humankind, ¹  appoint ²  a man over the community,

Why ¹  do I put myself in peril, ²  and take my life in my hands?

“I am the Lord, the God of all humankind. There is, indeed, nothing too difficult for me. ¹ 

And everyone ¹  will see that I, the Lord, have burned it; it will not be extinguished.’”

Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced; my body ¹  also will live in hope,

Are you so foolish? Although you began ¹  with ²  the Spirit, are you now trying to finish ³  by human effort? ⁴ 

Yet these men, ¹  as a result of their dreams, ²  defile the flesh, reject authority, ³  and insult ⁴  the glorious ones. ⁵ 

then I will remember my covenant with you ¹  and with all living creatures of all kinds. ²  Never again will the waters become a flood and destroy ³  all living things. ⁴ 

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in ¹  their humanity, ²  so that through death he could destroy ³  the one who holds the power of death (that is, the devil),

That is why ¹  a man leaves ²  his father and mother and unites with ³  his wife, and they become a new family. ⁴ 

You must circumcise the flesh of your foreskins. This will be a reminder ¹  of the covenant between me and you.

But the meat of the bull, its skin, and its dung you are to burn up ¹  outside the camp. ²  It is the purification offering. ³ 

But the hide of the bull, all its flesh along with its head and its legs, its entrails, and its dung –

but the rest of the bull – its hide, its flesh, and its dung – he completely burned up ¹  outside the camp just as the Lord had commanded Moses. ² 

Then the heifer must be burned ¹  in his sight – its skin, its flesh, its blood, and its offal is to be burned. ² 

But extend your hand and strike his bone and his flesh, ¹  and he will no doubt ²  curse you to your face!”
