Therefore produce ¹  fruit ²  that proves your repentance, and don’t begin to say ³  to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ ⁴  For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones! ⁵ 

but I declared to those in Damascus first, and then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, ¹  and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, ²  performing deeds consistent with ³  repentance.

They ¹  exchanged the truth of God for a lie ²  and worshiped and served the creation ³  rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

Therefore when I was planning to do this, I did not do so without thinking about what I was doing, did I? ¹  Or do I make my plans ²  according to mere human standards ³  so that I would be saying ⁴  both “Yes, yes” and “No, no” at the same time?

And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, ¹  are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, ²  which is from ³  the Lord, who is the Spirit. ⁴ 

Therefore, remember from what high state ¹  you have fallen and repent! Do ²  the deeds you did at the first; ³  if not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place – that is, if you do not repent. ⁴ 

This is the way it used to be continually: The cloud would cover it by day, ¹  and there was a fiery appearance by night.

Now Jair son of Manasseh went and captured their small towns and named them Havvoth Jair.

You overpower him once for all, ¹  and he departs; you change ²  his appearance and send him away.

My glory ¹  will always be fresh ²  in me, and my bow ever new in my hand.’

With great power God ¹  grasps my clothing; ²  he binds me like the collar ³  of my tunic.

Then you turned my lament into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and covered me with joy. ¹ 

I will always extend my loyal love to him, and my covenant with him is secure. ¹ 

I will not break ¹  my covenant or go back on what I promised. ² 

You bring their lives to an end and they “fall asleep.” ¹  In the morning they are like the grass that sprouts up;

The rules you set down ¹  are completely reliable. ²  Holiness ³  aptly adorns your house, O Lord, forever. ⁴ 

For the Lord vindicates ¹  his people, and has compassion on his servants. ² 

I will restore Judah and Israel ¹  and will rebuild them as they were in days of old. ² 

Yet in days to come I will reverse Moab’s ill fortune.” ¹  says the Lord. ²  The judgment against Moab ends here.

(4:1) ¹  For look! In those ²  days and at that time I will return the exiles ³  to Judah and Jerusalem. ⁴
