For the ways of a person ¹  are in front of the Lord’s eyes, and the Lord ²  weighs ³  all that person’s ⁴  paths.

The righteous person is cautious in his friendship, ¹  but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

A king sitting on the throne to judge ¹  separates out ²  all evil with his eyes. ³ 

Incline your ear ²  and listen to the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my instruction. ³ 

She watches over ¹  the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. ² 

I will make you pass under ¹  the shepherd’s staff, ²  and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

Here then is what the Lord who rules over all says: ‘Think carefully about what you are doing. ¹ 

I tell you the truth, ¹  people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter. ² 

Having no regard ¹  for the command of God, you hold fast to human tradition.” ² 

They kept this statement to themselves, discussing what this rising from the dead meant.

But as a matter of fact, God has placed each of the members in the body just as he decided.

In him ¹  the whole building, ²  being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

In my zeal for God I persecuted the church. According to the righteousness stipulated in the law I was blameless.

Be imitators of me, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  and watch carefully those who are living this way, just as you have us as an example.

And tell Archippus, “See to it that you complete the ministry you received in the Lord.”

Protect that good thing ¹  entrusted to you, through the Holy Spirit who lives within us.

You, however, ¹  have followed my teaching, my ²  way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance,

Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, ¹  bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, ¹
