Reach agreement ¹  quickly with your accuser while on the way to court, ²  or he ³  may hand you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the warden, and you will be thrown into prison.

Then God ¹  gave Abraham ²  the covenant ³  of circumcision, and so he became the father of Isaac and circumcised him when he was eight days old, ⁴  and Isaac became the father of ⁵  Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs. ⁶ 

What I am saying is this: The law that came four hundred thirty years later does not cancel a covenant previously ratified by God, ¹  so as to invalidate the promise.

But ¹  showing its fault, ²  God ³  says to them, ⁴  “Look, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will complete a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

It contained the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered entirely with gold. In this ark ¹  were the golden urn containing the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.

“This is the covenant that I will establish with them after those days, says the Lord. I will put ¹  my laws on their hearts and I will inscribe them on their minds,” ² 

Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ,

Then I will confirm my covenant ¹  between me and you, and I will give you a multitude of descendants.” ² 

“As for me, ¹  this ²  is my covenant with you: You will be the father of a multitude of nations.

Abraham took some sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech. The two of them made a treaty. ¹ 

as his property in the presence of the sons of Heth before all who entered the gate of Ephron’s city. ¹ 

God heard their groaning, ¹  God remembered ²  his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob,

If the ox ¹  gores a son or a daughter, the owner ²  will be dealt with according to this rule. ³ 

¹ “You must not give ²  a false report. ³  Do not make common cause ⁴  with the wicked ⁵  to be a malicious ⁶  witness.

The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

If she made the vow in her husband’s house or put herself under obligation with an oath,

“Therefore, keep the terms ¹  of this covenant and obey them so that you may be successful in everything you do.

he ¹  commanded the Levites who carried the ark of the Lord’s covenant,

Look! The ark of the covenant of the Ruler ¹  of the whole earth is ready to enter the Jordan ahead of you.

He prepared the inner sanctuary inside the temple so that the ark of the covenant of the Lord could be placed there.
