If they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink it, tell them that the Lord who rules over all says ¹  ‘You most certainly must drink it! ² 

But now plead for God’s favor ¹  that he might be gracious to us. ²  “With this kind of offering in your hands, how can he be pleased with you?” asks the Lord who rules over all.

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  we speak about what we know and testify about what we have seen, but ²  you people ³  do not accept our testimony. ⁴

But if they do not cross over with you armed, they must receive possessions among you in Canaan.”

We accept responsibility for fulfilling ¹  the commands to give ²  one third of a shekel each year for the work of the temple ³  of our God,

He does not charge interest when he lends his money. ¹  He does not take bribes to testify against the innocent. ²  The one who lives like this ³  will never be upended.

I tell you the truth, ¹  whoever does not receive ²  the kingdom of God like a child ³  will never ⁴  enter it.”

You, however, be self-controlled ¹  in all things, endure hardship, do an evangelist’s work, fulfill your ministry.

So put away all filth and evil excess and humbly ¹  welcome the message implanted within you, which is able to save your souls.

Slaves, ¹  be subject ²  to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are perverse.

But some men from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

Will you show him partiality? ¹  Will you argue the case ²  for God?

He would certainly rebuke ¹  you if you secretly ²  showed partiality!

I will not show partiality to anyone, ¹  nor will I confer a title ²  on any man.
