I hate the mob ¹  of evil men, and do not associate ²  with the wicked.

God reigns ¹  over the nations! God sits on his holy throne!

Those who linger over wine, those who go looking for mixed wine. ¹

The elders are gone from the city gate; the young men have stopped playing their music.

After instructing the crowd to sit down on the ground,

“The ¹  experts in the law ²  and the Pharisees ³  sit on Moses’ seat.

When ¹  it was evening, he took his place at the table ²  with the twelve. ³ 

(Now Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there, opposite the tomb.)

Now some of the experts in the law ¹  were sitting there, turning these things over in their minds: ² 

Then he directed them all to sit down in groups on the green grass.

Now a man was there who had been disabled for thirty-eight years. ¹ 

So Jesus went on up the mountainside ¹  and sat down there with his disciples.

Then ¹  I heard every creature – in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them – singing: ²  “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and ruling power ³  forever and ever!”

Then ¹  I saw thrones and seated on them were those who had been given authority to judge. ²  I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. These ³  had not worshiped the beast or his image and had refused to receive his mark on their forehead or hand. They ⁴  came to life ⁵  and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
