Give me understanding so that I might observe your law, and keep it with all my heart. ¹ 

Their tongues wound like a serpent; ¹  a viper’s ²  venom is behind ³  their lips. (Selah)

The one who keeps the law ¹  is a discerning child, ²  but a companion of gluttons brings shame ³  to his parents. ⁴ 

On every high, elevated hill you prepare your bed; you go up there to offer sacrifices.

But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts. They have turned aside and gone their own way. ¹ 

I will remove the sorcery ¹  that you practice, ²  and you will no longer have omen readers living among you. ³ 

“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their ¹  hands when they eat.” ² 

“But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies, ¹  do good to those who hate you,

Give to everyone who asks you, ¹  and do not ask for your possessions ²  back ³  from the person who takes them away.

and he has granted the Son ¹  authority to execute judgment, ²  because he is the Son of Man.

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  if anyone obeys ²  my teaching, ³  he will never see death.” ⁴ 

but ¹  wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition ²  and do not obey the truth but follow ³  unrighteousness.

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up.

On the contrary, those members that seem to be weaker are essential,

for God is not characterized by disorder but by peace. As in all the churches of the saints, ¹ 

But if I build up again those things I once destroyed, ¹  I demonstrate that I am one who breaks God’s law. ² 

sexually immoral people, practicing homosexuals, ¹  kidnappers, liars, perjurers – in fact, for any who live contrary to sound teaching.

My brothers and sisters, ¹  do not show prejudice ²  if you possess faith ³  in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. ⁴ 

For the culmination of all things is near. So be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of prayer. ¹ 

Now ¹  by this we know that we have come to know God: ²  if we keep his commandments.
