He must then examine the infection on the seventh day. If the infection has spread in the garment, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in the leather – whatever the article into which the leather was made ¹  – the infection is a malignant disease. It is unclean.

The priest must then examine it after the infection has been washed out, and if ¹  the infection has not changed its appearance ²  even though the infection has not spread, it is unclean. You must burn it up in the fire. It is a fungus, whether on the back side or front side of the article. ³ 

These two have the power ¹  to close up the sky so that it does not rain during the time ²  they are prophesying. They ³  have power ⁴  to turn the waters to blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague whenever they want.

Too bad for us! Who can deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all sorts of plagues in the desert!

When ¹  I close up the sky ²  so that it doesn’t rain, or command locusts to devour the land’s vegetation, ³  or send a plague among my people,

I will send famine and wild beasts against you and they will take your children from you. ¹  Plague and bloodshed will overwhelm you, ²  and I will bring a sword against you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

I will send a plague into the city ¹  and bloodshed into its streets; the slain will fall within it, by the sword that attacks it ²  from every side. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

For we have found ¹  this man to be a troublemaker, ²  one who stirs up riots ³  among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader ⁴  of the sect of the Nazarenes. ⁵ 

The priest will then examine it, ¹  and if ²  the infection has turned white, the priest is to pronounce the person with the infection clean ³  – he is clean.

But if the priest examines it and ¹  the infection has not spread in the garment or in the warp or in the woof or in any article of leather,

This is the law of the one in whom there is a diseased infection, ¹  who does not have sufficient means for his purification.” ² 

then whoever owns the house ¹  must come and declare to the priest, ‘Something like an infection is visible to me in the house.’

The priest must return on the seventh day and examine it, and if ¹  the infection has spread in the walls of the house,

then the priest is to command that the stones that had the infection in them be pulled and thrown ¹  outside the city ²  into an unclean place.

“If the infection returns and breaks out in the house after he has pulled out the stones, scraped the house, and it is replastered, ¹ 

“‘If you walk in hostility against me ¹  and are not willing to obey me, I will increase your affliction ²  seven times according to your sins.

I will kill everything living in Jerusalem, ¹  people and animals alike! They will die from terrible diseases.

From earliest times, the prophets who preceded you and me invariably ¹  prophesied war, disaster, ²  and plagues against many countries and great kingdoms.

At once the bleeding stopped, ¹  and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. ¹  Go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”
