He then handed out to each Israelite man and woman a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake.

Do not strike them dead suddenly, because then my people might forget the lesson. ¹  Use your power to make them homeless vagabonds and then bring them down, O Lord who shields us! ² 

for on account ¹  of a prostitute one is brought down to a loaf of bread, but the wife of another man ²  preys on your precious life. ³ 

Your lips are like a scarlet thread; ¹  your mouth is lovely. Your forehead ²  behind your veil is like a slice of pomegranate.

Like apples of gold in settings of silver, ¹  so is a word skillfully spoken. ²

Show me the coin used for the tax.” So ¹  they brought him a denarius. ² 

For this reason that field has been called the “Field of Blood” to this day.

The chief priests and the experts in the law ¹  were there, vehemently accusing him. ² 

Therefore do not let what you consider good ¹  be spoken of as evil.

And to all these ¹  virtues ²  add ³  love, which is the perfect bond. ⁴ 

Now it’s your turn to listen to your servant! Let me set before you a bit of bread so that you can eat. When you regain your strength, you can go on your way.”

The four wheels were under the frames and the crossbars of the axles were connected to the stand. Each wheel was two and one-quarter feet ¹  high.
