I would rather appeal ¹  to you on the basis of love – I, Paul, an old man ²  and even now a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus ³  –

Rather it is because of his ¹  love ²  for you and his faithfulness to the promise ³  he solemnly vowed ⁴  to your ancestors ⁵  that the Lord brought you out with great power, ⁶  redeeming ⁷  you from the place of slavery, from the power ⁸  of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

The Lord abhors ¹  dishonest scales, ²  but an accurate weight ³  is his elight.

A wise son accepts ¹  his father’s discipline, ²  but a scoffer ³  does not listen to rebuke.

A poor person is disliked ¹  even by his neighbors, but those who love the rich are many.

No, in all these things we have complete victory ¹  through him ²  who loved us!

not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not contentious, free from the love of money.
