After ¹  a little while, those standing there came up to Peter and said, “You really are one of them too – even your accent ²  gives you away!”

Then, gently taking the child by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up.”

Then ¹  a little later someone else ²  saw him and said, “You are one of them too.” But Peter said, “Man, ³  I am not!”

Then Jesus said, “I will be with you for only a little while longer, ¹  and then ²  I am going to the one who sent me.

They took soundings ¹  and found the water was twenty fathoms ²  deep; when they had sailed a little farther ³  they took soundings again and found it was fifteen fathoms ⁴  deep.

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast ¹  affects ²  the whole batch of dough?

He held ¹  in his hand a little scroll that was open, and he put his right foot on the sea and his left on the land.

The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. ¹ 

Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills?

He called a child, had him stand among them,

They took the boy home alive and were greatly ¹  comforted.

Jesus could see ¹  that they wanted to ask him about these things, ²  so ³  he said to them, “Are you asking ⁴  each other about this – that I said, ‘In a little while you ⁵  will not see me; again after a little while, you ⁶  will see me’?

I say again, let no one think that I am a fool. ¹  But if you do, then at least accept me as a fool, so that I too may boast a little.

Now therefore kill every boy, ¹  and kill every woman who has had sexual intercourse with a man. ² 

Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

They captured as plunder ¹  all their wealth, all their little ones, and their wives, including everything in the houses.

So now, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your little children.” Then he consoled them and spoke kindly ¹  to them.

The Israelites took the women of Midian captives along with their little ones, and took all their herds, all their flocks, and all their goods as plunder.

Evil men will soon disappear; ¹  you will stare at the spot where they once were, but they will be gone. ² 

There is little Benjamin, their ruler, ¹  and the princes of Judah in their robes, ²  along with the princes of Zebulun and the princes of Naphtali.
