As he was going along, approaching ¹  Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed ²  around him.

For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness.

The one who says he is in the light but still hates ¹  his fellow Christian ²  is still in the darkness.

Now this is the basis for judging: ¹  that the light has come into the world and people ²  loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.

But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses ¹  us from all sin. ² 

The light of the full moon will be like the sun’s glare and the sun’s glare will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, ¹  when the Lord binds up his people’s fractured bones ²  and heals their severe wound. ³ 

For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry.”

for the fruit of the light ¹  consists in ²  all goodness, righteousness, and truth –

and spices and olive oil for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense.

“Yes, ¹  the lamp ²  of the wicked is extinguished; his flame of fire ³  does not shine.

In the dark the robber ¹  breaks into houses, ²  but by day they shut themselves in; ³  they do not know the light. ⁴ 

He marks out the horizon ¹  on the surface of the waters as a boundary between light and darkness.

But he will join his ancestors; ¹  they will never again see the light of day. ² 

He covers himself with light as if it were a garment. He stretches out the skies like a tent curtain,

He spread out a cloud for a cover, ¹  and provided a fire to light up the night.

In the darkness a light ¹  shines for the godly, for each one who is merciful, compassionate, and just. ² 

and if you are convinced ¹  that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,

giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share ¹  in the saints’ ²  inheritance in the light.

Night will be no more, and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever.

“You are to make its seven lamps, ¹  and then set ²  its lamps up on it, so that it will give light ³  to the area in front of it.
