He commanded them, “This is what you must say to my lord Esau: ‘This is what your servant ¹  Jacob says: I have been staying with Laban until now.

Then he instructed them, ¹  “I am about to go ²  to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite.

Then we turned and set out toward the desert land on the way to the Red Sea ¹  just as the Lord told me to do, detouring around Mount Seir for a long time.

The Lord ¹  found him ²  in a desolate land, in an empty wasteland where animals howl. ³  He continually guarded him ⁴  and taught him; ⁵  he continually protected him ⁶  like the pupil ⁷  of his eye.

Joshua sent men from Jericho ¹  to Ai (which is located near Beth Aven, east of Bethel ² ) and instructed them, “Go up and spy on the land.” So the men went up and spied on Ai.

So he went down and dipped in the Jordan seven times, as the prophet had instructed. ¹  His skin became as smooth as a young child’s ²  and he was healed.

Solomon laid the foundation for God’s temple; ¹  its length (determined according to the old standard of measure) was 90 feet, and its width 30 feet. ² 

At that time I instructed ¹  the people, “Let every man and his coworker spend the night in Jerusalem and let them be guards for us by night and workers by day.

Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah – all of whom were Levites ¹  – were teaching the people the law, as the people remained standing.

Then ¹  he ordered the man ²  to tell no one, ³  but commanded him, ⁴  “Go ⁵  and show yourself to a priest, and bring the offering ⁶  for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, ⁷  as a testimony to them.” ⁸ 

So they sent word ¹  to Joseph, saying, “Your father gave these instructions before he died:

He laid his hands on him and commissioned him, just as the Lord commanded, ¹  by the authority ²  of Moses.

(30:1) ¹  So Moses told the Israelites everything, just as the Lord had commanded him. ² 

However, Moses did not assign land as an inheritance ¹  to the Levites; their inheritance ²  is the Lord God of Israel, as he instructed ³  them.

So David went up as Gad instructed him to do in the name of the Lord. ¹ 

Yes, your servant finds moral guidance there; ¹  those who obey them receive a rich reward. ² 

So that ¹  your confidence may be in the Lord, I am making them known to you today ²  – even you.

A servant ¹  cannot be corrected ²  by words, for although ³  he understands, there is no answer. ⁴ 

Now when Jesus saw a large crowd ¹  around him, he gave orders to go to the other side of the lake. ² 

Then he instructed his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ. ¹
