But ¹  he said to them, “Go ²  and tell that fox, ³  ‘Look, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day ⁴  I will complete my work. ⁵ 

When ¹  the head steward tasted the water that had been turned to wine, not knowing where it came from ²  (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), he ³  called the bridegroom

We sailed slowly ¹  for many days and arrived with difficulty off Cnidus. ²  Because the wind prevented us from going any farther, ³  we sailed under the lee ⁴  of Crete off Salmone. ⁵ 

So I ask, God has not rejected his people, has he? Absolutely not! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.

Or is he not surely speaking for our benefit? It was written for us, because the one plowing and threshing ought to work in hope of enjoying the harvest.

I urged Titus to visit you ¹  and I sent our ²  brother along with him. Titus did not take advantage of you, did he? ³  Did we not conduct ourselves in the same spirit? Did we not behave in the same way? ⁴ 

But if while seeking to be justified in Christ we ourselves have also been found to be sinners, is Christ then one who encourages ¹  sin? Absolutely not!

Think of how we regard ¹  as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and you have seen the Lord’s purpose, that the Lord is full of compassion and mercy. ² 

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat ¹  of the fruit from the trees of the orchard;

(Now ¹  they did not know that Joseph could understand them, ²  for he was speaking through an interpreter.) ³ 

Later the king of the Ammonites died and his son Hanun succeeded him. ¹ 

Some time later Absalom managed to acquire ¹  a chariot and horses, as well as fifty men to serve as his royal guard. ² 

When the king arrived back from Damascus and ¹  saw the altar, he approached it ²  and offered a sacrifice on it. ³ 

Later King Nahash of the Ammonites died and his son succeeded him.

א (Alef) How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, ²  who obey ³  the law of the Lord.

ה (He) Teach me, O Lord, the lifestyle prescribed by your statutes, ¹  so that I might observe it continually. ² 

The wicked lay a trap for me, but I do not wander from your precepts.

(Let the wise also ¹  hear ²  and gain ³  instruction, and let the discerning ⁴  acquire ⁵  guidance! ⁶ )

Your misdeeds have stopped these things from coming. ¹  Your sins have deprived you of my bounty.’ ² 

He said to me, “To 2,300 evenings and mornings; ¹  then the sanctuary will be put right again.” ²
