He sent his slaves ¹  to summon those who had been invited to the banquet, but they would not come.

And a son was also born to Seth, whom he named Enosh. At that time people ¹  began to worship ²  the Lord.

In fact, what other great nation has a god so near to them like the Lord our God whenever we call on him?

King David said, “Summon Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, ¹  and Benaiah son of Jehoiada.” They came before the king,

Elisha ¹  called to Gehazi and said, “Get the Shunammite woman.” So he did so ²  and she came to him. He said to her, “Take your son.”

All those who behave wickedly ¹  do not understand – ²  those who devour my people as if they were eating bread, and do not call out to the Lord.

When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor.

“Do not say, ‘Conspiracy,’ every time these people say the word. ¹  Don’t be afraid of what scares them; don’t be terrified.

Indeed, they live in the holy city; ¹  they trust in ²  the God of Israel, whose name is the Lord who commands armies.

My people are obsessed ¹  with turning away from me; ²  they call to Baal, ³  but he will never exalt them!

“All nations will call you happy, for you indeed will live in ¹  a delightful land,” says the Lord who rules over all.

Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So ¹  they called the blind man and said to him, “Have courage! Get up! He is calling you.”

because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant. ¹  For ²  from now on ³  all generations will call me blessed, ⁴ 

For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, who richly blesses all who call on him.

Now I appeal to God as my witness, ¹  that to spare ²  you I did not come again to Corinth. ³ 

Then you ¹  will invoke the name of your god, and I will invoke the name of the Lord. The god who responds with fire will demonstrate that he is the true God.” ²  All the people responded, “This will be a fair test.” ³ 

Also, when I cry out desperately ¹  for help, ²  he has shut out my prayer. ³ 

But this I call ¹  to mind; ²  therefore I have hope:

Then you will call ¹  your ²  brother, “My People” (Ammi)! You will call your sister, “Pity” (Ruhamah)!

and elaborate greetings ¹  in the marketplaces, and to have people call them ‘Rabbi.’
