Queen Vashti ¹  also gave a banquet for the women in King Ahasuerus’ royal palace.

But as ¹  a mountain falls away and crumbles, ²  and as a rock will be removed from its place,

By this ¹  I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does ²  not triumph ³  over me.

All of man’s labor is for nothing more than ¹  to fill his stomach ²  – yet his appetite ³  is never satisfied!

And in their prayers on your behalf they long for you because of the extraordinary grace God has shown to you. ¹ 

When Christ (who is your ¹  life) appears, then you too will be revealed in glory with him.

So the king got up and sat at the city gate. When all the people were informed that the king was sitting at the city gate, they ¹  all came before him.But the Israelite soldiers ²  had all fled to their own homes. ³ 

The rest of the Jews who were throughout the provinces of the king assembled in order to stand up for themselves and to have rest from their enemies. They killed seventy-five thousand ¹  of their adversaries, but they did not confiscate their property.

The sailors were so afraid that each cried out ¹  to his own god ²  and they flung ³  the ship’s cargo ⁴  overboard ⁵  to make the ship lighter. ⁶  Jonah, meanwhile, ⁷  had gone down ⁸  into the hold ⁹  below deck, had lain down, and was sound asleep.

Silently the man watched her with interest to determine ¹  if the Lord had made his journey successful ²  or not.
