They spend the night naked because they lack clothing; they have no covering against the cold.

Sinful rebels are totally destroyed; ¹  evil men have no future. ² 

Loyal love and faithfulness meet; ¹  deliverance and peace greet each other with a kiss. ² 

“I, wisdom, live with prudence, ¹  and I find ²  knowledge and discretion.

Abandon your foolish ways ¹  so that you may live, ²  and proceed ³  in the way of understanding.”

As ¹  he rode along, they ²  spread their cloaks on the road.

So ¹  he sent still a third. They even wounded this one, and threw him out.

Now as Jesus was passing by, ¹  he saw a man who had been blind from birth.

They stopped there and decided to spend the night ¹  in Gibeah. They came into the city and sat down in the town square, but no one invited them to spend the night. ² 

When he looked up and saw the traveler ¹  in the town square, the old man said, “Where are you heading? Where do you come from?”

Ahaz gathered the items in God’s temple and removed them. He shut the doors of the Lord’s temple and erected altars on every street corner in Jerusalem.

He appointed military officers over the army ¹  and assembled them in the square at the city gate. He encouraged them, ²  saying,

The Beloved to Her Lover: Oh, how I wish you were ¹  my little brother, ²  nursing at my mother’s breasts; if I saw ³  you outside, I could kiss you – surely ⁴  no one would despise me! ⁵ 

On all the housetops in Moab and in all its public squares there will be nothing but mourning. For I will break Moab like an unwanted jar. I, the Lord, affirm it! ¹ 

He brought in the priests and Levites and assembled them in the square on the east side.

I was very upset, and I threw all of Tobiah’s household possessions out of the storeroom.

My guests ¹  and my servant girls consider ²  me a stranger; I am a foreigner ³  in their eyes.

I broke the fangs ¹  of the wicked, and made him drop ²  his prey from his teeth.

If they obey and serve him, they live out their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness. ¹ 

You made us ¹  an object of disdain to our neighbors; those who live on our borders taunt and insult us. ²
