You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who has ever resisted his will?”

Everyone who practices sin ¹  also practices lawlessness; ²  indeed, ³  sin is lawlessness.

If ¹  anyone sees his fellow Christian ²  committing a sin not resulting in death, ³  he should ask, and God ⁴  will grant ⁵  life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death. ⁶  There is a sin resulting in death. ⁷  I do not say that he should ask about that.

or has found something lost and denies it and swears falsely ¹  concerning any one of the things that someone might do to sin ²  –

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘If any man’s wife goes astray and behaves unfaithfully toward him,

And the priest must make atonement for the person who sins unintentionally – when he sins unintentionally before the Lord – to make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

When a righteous person turns back from his righteousness and practices wrongdoing, he will die for it; ¹  because of the wrongdoing he has done, he will die.

My people are obsessed ¹  with turning away from me; ²  they call to Baal, ³  but he will never exalt them!

The experts in the law ¹  and the Pharisees ²  brought a woman who had been caught committing adultery. They made her stand in front of them

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast ¹  affects ²  the whole batch of dough?

For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Are you not to judge those inside?

He risked his life ¹  when he struck down the Philistine and the Lord gave all Israel a great victory. When you saw it, you were happy. So why would you sin against innocent blood by putting David to death for no reason?”

Even now they persist in sin! ¹  They make metal images for themselves, idols that they skillfully fashion ²  from their own silver; all of them are nothing but the work of craftsmen! There is a saying about them: ³  “Those who sacrifice ⁴  to the calf idol are calf kissers!” ⁵
