And so ¹  you are to separate the Levites from among the Israelites, and the Levites will be mine.

So they traveled on, ¹  and the sun went down when they were near Gibeah in the territory of Benjamin. ² 

Get up, for this matter concerns you. We are with you, so be strong and act decisively!”

Certainly ¹  the Lord is just; ²  he rewards godly deeds; ³  the upright will experience his favor. ⁴ 

Our God is a God who delivers; the Lord, the sovereign Lord, can rescue from death. ¹ 

I will appoint him to be my firstborn son, ¹  the most exalted of the earth’s kings.

In my distress ¹  I cried out to the Lord. The Lord answered me and put me in a wide open place. ² 

Like tying a stone in a sling, ¹  so is giving honor to a fool.

His eyes are like doves by streams of water, washed in milk, mounted like jewels.

you slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols. ¹

So I will set Hazael’s house ¹  on fire; fire ²  will consume Ben Hadad’s ³  fortresses.

During the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd, ¹  whomever they wanted.

For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness ¹  and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation. ² 

These things happened as examples for us, so that we will not crave evil things as they did.

They set the onyx stones in gold filigree settings, engraved as with the engravings of a seal ¹  with the names of the sons of Israel. ²
