Then Mephibosheth ¹  bowed and said, “Of what importance am I, your servant, that you show regard for a dead dog like me?” ² 

O God, invincible warrior, ¹  come back! Look down from heaven and take notice! Take care of this vine,

Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition ¹  or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.

And do everything in a decent and orderly manner.

Those who are under the yoke as slaves ¹  must regard their own masters as deserving of full respect. This will prevent ²  the name of God and Christian teaching ³  from being discredited. ⁴

O Lord, of what importance is the human race, ¹  that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, ²  that you should be concerned about them? ³ 

A righteous person cares for ¹  the life of his animal, but even the most compassionate acts ²  of the wicked are cruel.

None of the rest dared to join them, ¹  but the people held them in high honor. ² 

We did this ¹  as a precaution so that no one should blame us in regard to this generous gift we are administering.

But these assets I have come to regard as liabilities because of Christ.
