They were left to test Israel, so the Lord would know if his people would obey the commands he gave their ancestors through Moses. ¹ 

Since you did not obey the Lord ¹  and did not carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites, the Lord has done this thing to you today.

But correct the way you have been living and do what is right. ¹  Obey the Lord your God. If you do, the Lord will forgo destroying you as he threatened he would. ² 

Then Jeremiah answered, “You will not be handed over to them. Please obey the Lord by doing what I have been telling you. ¹  Then all will go well with you and your life will be spared. ² 

They were all amazed so that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He even commands the unclean spirits and they obey him.”

So ¹  the Lord replied, ²  “If ³  you had faith the size of ⁴  a mustard seed, you could say to this black mulberry ⁵  tree, ‘Be pulled out by the roots and planted in the sea,’ ⁶  and it would obey ⁷  you.

if you carefully obey ¹  him ²  by keeping ³  all these commandments that I am giving ⁴  you today.

They went on to Egypt ¹  because they refused to obey the Lord, and came to Tahpanhes. ² 

And now, if you will diligently listen to me ¹  and keep ²  my covenant, then you will be my ³  special possession ⁴  out of all the nations, for all the earth is mine,

You must follow the Lord your God and revere only him; and you must observe his commandments, obey him, serve him, and remain loyal to him.

They must declare to the elders ¹  of his city, “Our son is stubborn and rebellious and pays no attention to what we say – he is a glutton and drunkard.”

But I will completely uproot and destroy any of those nations that will not pay heed,’” ¹  says the Lord.

But he replied, ¹  “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey ²  it!”

“‘If you walk in my statutes and are sure to obey my commandments, ¹ 

to those who keep his covenant, who are careful to obey his commands. ¹ 

פ (Pe) Your rules are marvelous. Therefore I observe them.

Obey the king’s command, ¹  because you took ²  an oath before God ³  to be loyal to him. ⁴ 

“‘If you walk in hostility against me ¹  and are not willing to obey me, I will increase your affliction ²  seven times according to your sins.
