Now ¹  King Herod ²  heard this, for Jesus’ ³  name had become known. Some ⁴  were saying, “John the baptizer ⁵  has been raised from the dead, and because of this, miraculous powers are at work in him.”

The Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen to you, so that my wonders ¹  may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”

He was not able to do a miracle there, except to lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.

For false messiahs ¹  and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect.

Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs, ¹  in Cana ²  of Galilee. In this way he revealed ³  his glory, and his disciples believed in him. ⁴ 

Now while Jesus ¹  was in Jerusalem ²  at the feast of the Passover, many people believed in his name because they saw the miraculous signs he was doing. ³ 

Yet many of the crowd ¹  believed in him and said, “Whenever the Christ ²  comes, he won’t perform more miraculous signs than this man did, will he?” ³ 

Many ¹  came to him and began to say, “John ²  performed ³  no miraculous sign, but everything John said about this man ⁴  was true!”

So the chief priests and the Pharisees ¹  called the council ²  together and said, “What are we doing? For this man is performing many miraculous signs.

Gideon said to him, “Pardon me, ¹  but if the Lord is with us, why has such disaster ²  overtaken us? Where are all his miraculous deeds our ancestors told us about? They said, ³  ‘Did the Lord not bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”

Sing to him! Make music to him! Tell about all his miraculous deeds!

“Pay attention to this, Job! Stand still and consider the wonders God works.

to give you thanks, ¹  and to tell about all your amazing deeds. ² 

For you are great and do amazing things. You alone are God.

How great are your works, O Lord! Your plans are very intricate! ¹ 

where your ancestors challenged my authority, ¹  and tried my patience, even though they had seen my work.

Sing to him! Make music to him! Tell about all his miraculous deeds!

He does ¹  amazing things that will be remembered; ²  the Lord is merciful and compassionate.

to the one who performs magnificent, amazing deeds all by himself, for his loyal love endures,

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue. ¹  Many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did he get these ideas? ²  And what is this wisdom that has been given to him? What are these miracles that are done through his hands?
