and I always ask ¹  in my prayers, if perhaps now at last I may succeed in visiting you according to the will of God. ² 

He prepares to use deadly weapons against him; ¹  he gets ready to shoot flaming arrows. ² 

he winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, and points with his fingers; ¹ 

for their hearts contemplate violence, and their lips speak harm. ¹ 

They help one another; ¹  one says to the other, ‘Be strong!’

Then ¹  Jesus ²  traveled throughout ³  towns ⁴  and villages, teaching and making his way toward ⁵  Jerusalem. ⁶ 

Many of those who had believed came forward, ¹  confessing and making their deeds known. ² 

with all humility and gentleness, ¹  with patience, bearing with ²  one another in love,

making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

And God said, “This is the guarantee ¹  of the covenant I am making ²  with you ³  and every living creature with you, a covenant ⁴  for all subsequent ⁵  generations:

¹ The rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return, but instead water the earth and make it produce and yield crops, and provide seed for the planter and food for those who must eat.

Now and then ¹  there would be something wrong ²  with the pot he was molding from the clay ³  with his hands. So he would rework ⁴  the clay into another kind of pot as he saw fit. ⁵ 

and through him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through the blood of his cross – through him, ¹  whether things on earth or things in heaven.

Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, “You have brought ruin ¹  on me by making me a foul odor ²  among the inhabitants of the land – among the Canaanites and the Perizzites. I ³  am few in number; they will join forces against me and attack me, and both I and my family will be destroyed!”

“When he has finished purifying the holy place, ¹  the Meeting Tent, and the altar, he is to present the live goat.

I, the Lord, say: ¹  ‘That is how I will deal with this city and its citizens. I will make it like Topheth.

He did this when he revealed ¹  to us the secret ²  of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth ³  in Christ, ⁴ 

and if he turned to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah when he condemned them to destruction, ¹  having appointed ²  them to serve as an example ³  to future generations of the ungodly, ⁴ 

Every day you are to prepare a bull for a purification offering ¹  for atonement. ²  You are to purge ³  the altar by making atonement ⁴  for it, and you are to anoint it to set it apart as holy.

If he is too poor to pay the conversion value, he must stand the person before the priest and the priest will establish his conversion value; ¹  according to what the man who made the vow can afford, ²  the priest will establish his conversion value.
