so the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, both young and old. They will be in undergarments and barefoot, with the buttocks exposed; the Egyptians will be publicly humiliated. ¹ 

Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah were to play the lyres according to the sheminith style, ¹  as led by ²  the director;

For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ ¹  and they will mislead many.

These things I have written to you about those who are trying to deceive you. ¹

Then, when the officers have finished speaking, ¹  they must appoint unit commanders ²  to lead the troops.

You will become an occasion of horror, a proverb, and an object of ridicule to all the peoples to whom the Lord will drive you.

Be strong and brave! You must lead these people in the conquest of this land that I solemnly promised their ancestors I would hand over to them. ¹ 

We will be like all the other nations. Our king will judge us and lead us ¹  and fight our battles.”

I will lead the blind along an unfamiliar way; ¹  I will guide them down paths they have never traveled. ²  I will turn the darkness in front of them into light, and level out the rough ground. ³  This is what I will do for them. I will not abandon them.

For false messiahs ¹  and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect.
