I have competed well; ¹  I have finished the race; I have kept the faith!

The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan. All Israel crossed over on dry ground until the entire nation was on the other side. ¹ 

The dream was repeated to Pharaoh ¹  because the matter has been decreed ²  by God, and God will make it happen soon. ³ 

(There had never been anyone like Ahab, who was firmly committed ¹  to doing evil in the sight of ²  the Lord, urged on by his wife Jezebel. ³ 

Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority, ¹  for ²  the Lord his God was with him and magnified him greatly.

After Rehoboam’s rule was established and solidified, he and all Israel rejected the law of the Lord.

He established a rule ¹  in Jacob; he set up a law in Israel. He commanded our ancestors to make his deeds known to their descendants, ² 

Indeed this is what the Lord told me. He took hold of me firmly and warned me not to act like these people: ¹ 

I will fasten him like a peg into a solid place; ¹  he will bring honor and respect to his father’s family. ² 

A crushed reed he will not break, a dim wick he will not extinguish; ¹  he will faithfully make just decrees. ² 

For this is what the Lord says: “For the eunuchs who observe my Sabbaths and choose what pleases me and are faithful to ¹  my covenant,

I will take delight in doing good to them. I will faithfully and wholeheartedly plant them ¹  firmly in the land.’

But those three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell into the furnace ¹  of blazing fire while still securely bound. ² 

Then with smooth words he will defile ¹  those who have rejected ²  the covenant. But the people who are loyal to ³  their God will act valiantly. ⁴ 

Then, gently taking the child by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up.”

But if we say, ‘From people,’ all the people will stone us, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.”

The evening meal ¹  was in progress, and the devil had already put into the heart ²  of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, that he should betray ³  Jesus. ⁴ 

While the man ¹  was hanging on to Peter and John, all the people, completely astounded, ran together to them in the covered walkway ²  called Solomon’s Portico. ³ 

Since God is one, ¹  he will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

I praise you ¹  because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions just as I passed them on to you.
