Afterward David’s conscience bothered him ¹  because he had cut off an edge of Saul’s robe.

just as I was in my most productive time, ¹  when God’s intimate friendship ²  was experienced in my tent,

“If I have put my confidence in gold or said to pure gold, ‘You are my security!’

As he got out he saw the large crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised.” And they became greatly distressed.

The lord had compassion on that slave and released him, and forgave him the debt.

Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

When ¹  the Lord saw her, he had compassion ²  for her and said to her, “Do not weep.” ³ 

because he not only accepted our request, but since he was very eager, ¹  he is coming ²  to you of his own accord. ³

What can I say? He has decreed and acted. ¹  I will walk slowly all my years because I am overcome with grief. ² 

I acted for the sake of my reputation, so that I would not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, ¹  “Lord, save me!”

Now when ¹  Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus ²  had been condemned, he regretted what he had done and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders,
