Now when Jesus returned, ¹  the crowd welcomed him, because they were all waiting for him.

So ¹  Judas ²  agreed and began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus ³  when no crowd was present. ⁴ 

A ¹  very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, “Look, your mother and your brothers ¹  are outside looking for you.”

In those days there was another large crowd with nothing to eat. So ¹  Jesus ²  called his disciples and said to them,

A member of the crowd said to him, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that makes him mute.

Soon ¹  afterward ²  Jesus ³  went to a town ⁴  called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him.

Then ¹  a man from the crowd cried out, ²  “Teacher, I beg you to look at ³  my son – he is my only child!

But the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped out, since there was a crowd in that place.

The crowd that stood there and heard the voice ¹  said that it had thundered. Others said that an angel had spoken to him. ² 

which I was doing when they found me in the temple, ritually purified, ¹  without a crowd or a disturbance. ² 

Then ¹  he directed the crowd to sit down on the ground. After he took the seven loaves and gave thanks, he broke them and began giving them to the disciples to serve. So ²  they served the crowd.

But when Paul wanted to enter the public assembly, ¹  the disciples would not let him.

And such a large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat to sit while ¹  the whole crowd stood on the shore.

The ¹  crowd scolded ²  them to get them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, “Lord, have mercy on us, ³  Son of David!”

When Jesus had crossed again in a boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around him, and he was by the sea.

After Jesus ¹  took him aside privately, away from the crowd, he put his fingers in the man’s ²  ears, and after spitting, he touched his tongue. ³ 

So when the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats ¹  and came to Capernaum ²  looking for Jesus.

The Pharisees ¹  heard the crowd ²  murmuring these things about Jesus, ³  so the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers ⁴  to arrest him. ⁵ 

The crowd joined the attack ¹  against them, and the magistrates tore the clothes ²  off Paul and Silas ³  and ordered them to be beaten with rods. ⁴
