And he was transfigured before them. ¹  His ²  face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.

and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings ¹  or birds or four-footed animals ²  or reptiles.

“This is the conclusion of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts troubled me greatly, and the color drained from my face. ¹  But I kept the matter to myself.” ² 

Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

When Jacob saw the look on Laban’s face, he could tell his attitude toward him had changed. ¹ 

Then the Lord relented over the evil that he had said he would do to his people.

Relent, ¹  let there be no falsehood; ²  reconsider, ³  for my righteousness is intact! ⁴ 

The more the priests increased in numbers, the more they rebelled against me. They have turned ¹  their glorious calling into a shameful disgrace!

“Since, I, the Lord, do not go back on my promises, ¹  you, sons of Jacob, have not perished.

“From its earliest days Moab has lived undisturbed. It has never been taken into exile. Its people are like wine allowed to settle undisturbed on its dregs, never poured out from one jar to another. They are like wine which tastes like it always did, whose aroma has remained unchanged. ¹ 

If you don’t inform me of the dream, there is only one thing that is going to happen to you. ¹  For you have agreed among yourselves to report to me something false and deceitful ²  until such time as things might change. So tell me the dream, and I will have confidence ³  that you can disclose its interpretation.”

There he said to them, “I can tell that your father’s attitude toward me has changed, ¹  but the God of my father has been with me.

Six days later ¹  Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John and led them alone up a high mountain privately. And he was transfigured before them, ² 

Do not be conformed ¹  to this present world, ²  but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve ³  what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to investigate the land. And Moses gave Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua. ¹ 

The Preeminent One ¹  of Israel does not go back on his word ²  or change his mind, for he is not a human being who changes his mind.” ³

his food is turned sour ¹  in his stomach; ²  it becomes the venom of serpents ³  within him.

Men ¹  move boundary stones; they seize the flock and pasture them. ² 

Iron is taken from the ground, ¹  and rock is poured out ²  as copper.
