If ¹  I have sinned – what have I done to you, ²  O watcher of men? ³  Why have you set me as your target? ⁴  Have I become a burden to you? ⁵ 

Listen to my instruction ¹  so that you may be wise, ²  and do not neglect it.

“When a garment has a diseased infection in it, ¹  whether a wool or linen garment, ² 

The priest is to examine and then quarantine the article with the infection for seven days. ¹ 

“Are you acquainted with the way ¹  the mountain goats ²  give birth? Do you watch as the wild deer give birth to their young?

They stalk ¹  and lurk; ²  they watch my every step, ³  as ⁴  they prepare to take my life. ⁵ 

with this goal in mind, ¹  I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God ²  in Christ Jesus.

By professing it, some have strayed from the faith. ¹  Grace be with you all. ² 

He must then examine the infection on the seventh day. If the infection has spread in the garment, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in the leather – whatever the article into which the leather was made ¹  – the infection is a malignant disease. It is unclean.

and he must present his offering ¹  to the Lord: one male lamb in its first year without blemish for a burnt offering, one ewe lamb in its first year without blemish for a purification offering, one ram without blemish for a peace offering, ² 

I will say, ¹  ‘My dear children of Israel, ²  keep in mind the road you took when you were carried off. ³  Mark off in your minds the landmarks. Make a mental note of telltale signs marking the way back. Return, my dear children of Israel. Return to these cities of yours.

But if the bright spot stays in its place and has not spread, ¹  it is the scar of the boil, so the priest is to pronounce him clean. ² 

But if the priest examines it and ¹  the infection has not spread in the garment or in the warp or in the woof or in any article of leather,

the priest is to command that they wash whatever has the infection and quarantine it for another seven days. ¹ 

I was in peace, and he has shattered me. ¹  He has seized me by the neck and crushed me. ²  He has made me his target;

Carefully consider this, you who reject God! ¹  Otherwise I will rip you to shreds ²  and no one will be able to rescue you.

When you have finished purifying it, you will offer an unblemished young bull and an unblemished ram from the flock.

The burnt offering which the prince will offer to the Lord on the Sabbath day will be six unblemished lambs and one unblemished ram.

On the day of the new moon he will offer ¹  an unblemished young bull, and six lambs and a ram, all without blemish.

When ¹  they arrived ²  in Salamis, ³  they began to proclaim ⁴  the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. ⁵  (Now they also had John ⁶  as their assistant.) ⁷
