We are coworkers belonging to God. ¹  You are God’s field, God’s building.

So as you come to him, ¹  a living stone rejected by men but ²  chosen and priceless ³  in God’s sight,

Shaphan the scribe went to the king and reported, ¹  “Your servants melted down the silver in the temple ²  and handed it over to the construction foremen assigned to the Lord’s temple.”

He made the special curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen; he made ¹  it with cherubim, the work of an artistic designer.

Then those in Judah said, “The strength of the laborers ¹  has failed! The debris is so great that we are unable to rebuild the wall.”

He sent it after King Jeconiah, the queen mother, the palace officials, ¹  the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen, and the metal workers had been exiled from Jerusalem. ² 

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner ¹  who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.

At harvest time he sent a slave ¹  to the tenants to collect from them ²  his portion of the crop. ³

What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy ¹  those tenants and give the vineyard to others. ² 

But when the tenants saw him, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir; let’s kill him so the inheritance will be ours!’

So ¹  they threw him out of the vineyard and killed ²  him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

For a man named Demetrius, a silversmith who made silver shrines ¹  of Artemis, ²  brought a great deal ³  of business ⁴  to the craftsmen.

So you who believe see ¹  his value, ²  but for those who do not believe, the stone that the builders rejected has become the ³  cornerstone, ⁴ 

You ¹  are to speak to all who are specially skilled, ²  whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, ³  so that they may make ⁴  Aaron’s garments to set him apart ⁵  to minister as my priest.

The king of Babylon deported to Babylon all the soldiers (there were 7,000), as well as 1,000 craftsmen and metal workers. This included all the best warriors. ¹
