So the Israelites who were present observed the Passover at that time, as well as the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days.

saying, “Where is the one who is born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose ¹  and have come to worship him.”

You must observe this event as an ordinance for you and for your children forever.

They observed a time of fasting and put Naboth in front of the people.

For I envied those who are proud, as I observed ¹  the prosperity ²  of the wicked.

They witnessed the acts of the Lord, his amazing feats on the deep water.

I remember your name during the night, O Lord, and I will keep ¹  your law.

I am more discerning than those older than I, for I observe your precepts.

and I saw among the naive – I discerned among the youths ¹  – a young man ²  who lacked wisdom. ³ 

When I saw this, I gave careful consideration to it; ¹  I received instruction from what I saw: ² 

So ¹  I again considered ²  another ³  futile thing on earth: ⁴ 

The young man said to him, “I have wholeheartedly obeyed ¹  all these laws. ²  What do I still lack?”

Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where the body ¹  was placed.

And they observed the Passover ¹  on the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight in the wilderness of Sinai; in accordance with all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the Israelites did.

I will not take the whole kingdom from his hand. I will allow him to be ruler for the rest of his life for the sake of my chosen servant David who kept my commandments and rules.

He issued this edict because ¹  a Passover like this had not been observed since the days of the judges; it was neglected for the entire period of the kings of Israel and Judah. ² 

At that time Solomon and all Israel with him celebrated a festival for seven days. This great assembly included people from Lebo Hamath in the north to the Brook of Egypt in the south. ¹ 

I had them assemble ¹  at the canal ²  that flows toward Ahava, and we camped there for three days. I observed that the people and the priests were present, but I found no Levites there.

Now Haman went forth that day pleased and very much encouraged. ¹  But when Haman saw Mordecai at the king’s gate, and he did not rise nor tremble in his presence, ²  Haman was filled with rage toward Mordecai.

Then I considered ¹  all the skillful work ²  that is done: Surely it is nothing more than ³  competition ⁴  between one person and another. ⁵  This also is profitless – like ⁶  chasing the wind.
