Why do you force me to witness injustice? ¹  Why do you put up with wrongdoing? ²  Destruction and violence confront ³  me; conflict is present and one must endure strife. ⁴ 

For how ¹  were you treated worse than the other churches, except that I myself was not a burden to you? Forgive me this injustice!

how much less man, who is abominable and corrupt, ¹  who drinks in evil like water! ² 

although ¹  there is no violence in my hands and my prayer is pure.

You ¹  build Zion through bloody crimes, ²  Jerusalem ³  through unjust violence.

But you yourselves wrong and cheat, and you do this to your brothers and sisters! ¹ 

This is what the Lord says: “What fault could your ancestors ¹  have possibly found in me that they strayed so far from me? ²  They paid allegiance to ³  worthless idols, and so became worthless to me. ⁴ 

does not engage in usury or charge interest, ¹  but refrains ²  from wrongdoing, promotes true justice ³  between men,

The just Lord resides ¹  within her; he commits no unjust acts. ²  Every morning he reveals ³  his justice. At dawn he appears without fail. ⁴  Yet the unjust know no shame.

if ¹  iniquity is in your hand – put it far away, ²  and do not let evil reside in your tents.

For the company of the godless is barren, ¹  and fire ²  consumes the tents of those who accept bribes. ³ 

If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; ¹  if you remove wicked behavior far from your tent,

No! ¹  You plan how to do what is unjust; ²  you deal out violence in the earth. ³ 

These sayings also are from the wise: To show partiality ¹  in judgment is terrible: ² 

When a righteous man turns from his godliness and commits iniquity, he will die for it.

The godly ¹  will rejoice when they see vengeance carried out; they will bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

And the landowner ¹  replied to one of them, ²  ‘Friend, I am not treating you unfairly. Didn’t you agree with me to work for the standard wage? ³ 

You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness. So God, your God, has anointed you over your companions ¹  with the oil of rejoicing.” ² 

Suppose I tell the righteous that he will certainly live, but he becomes confident in his righteousness and commits iniquity. None of his righteous deeds will be remembered; because of the iniquity he has committed he will die.
