Look at them shake uncontrollably, ¹  like a woman writhing in childbirth. ² 

Her hands ¹  take hold ²  of the distaff, and her hands grasp the spindle.

that it might seize the corners of the earth, ¹  and shake the wicked out of it?

he taught me, and he said to me: “Let your heart lay hold of my words; keep my commands so that ¹  you will live.

My heart is crushed because my dear people ¹  are being crushed. ²  I go about crying and grieving. I am overwhelmed with dismay. ³ 

Having no regard ¹  for the command of God, you hold fast to human tradition.” ² 

and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you – unless you believed in vain.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, ¹  stand firm and hold on to the traditions that we taught you, whether by speech or by letter. ² 

In this way they will save up ¹  a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation ²  for the future and so lay hold of ³  what is truly life.

For we have become partners with Christ, if in fact we hold our initial confidence ¹  firm until the end.

Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.

A trap ¹  seizes him by the heel; a snare ²  grips him.

For, when I think ¹  about this, I am terrified ²  and my body feels a shudder. ³ 

But they remained silent. So ¹  Jesus ²  took hold of the man, ³  healed him, and sent him away. ⁴ 

So welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him,

He himself is before all things and all things are held together ¹  in him.

I will sharpen my lightning-like sword, and my hand will grasp hold of the weapon of judgment; ¹  I will execute vengeance on my foes, and repay those who hate me! ² 

Take a man’s ¹  garment when he has given security for a stranger, and when he gives surety for a stranger, ²  hold him in pledge. ³ 

For I am the Lord your God, the one who takes hold of your right hand, who says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, I am helping you.’

For this is what the Lord says: “For the eunuchs who observe my Sabbaths and choose what pleases me and are faithful to ¹  my covenant,
