For if by my lie the truth of God enhances ¹  his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

You destroy ¹  liars; ²  the Lord despises ³  violent and deceitful people. ⁴ 

You despise ¹  all who stray from your statutes, for they are deceptive and unreliable. ² 

How can you say, “We are wise! We have the law of the Lord”? The truth is, ¹  those who teach it ²  have used their writings to make it say what it does not really mean. ³ 

All these idolaters ¹  will prove to be stupid and ignorant. Every goldsmith will be disgraced by the idol he made. For the image he forges is merely a sham. ²  There is no breath in any of those idols. ³ 

They see delusion and their omens are a lie. ¹  They say, “the Lord declares,” though the Lord has not sent them; ²  yet they expect their word to be confirmed. ³ 

“‘Therefore, this is what the sovereign Lord says: Because you have spoken false words and forecast delusion, look, ¹  I am against you, ²  declares the sovereign Lord.

If a lying windbag should come and say, ¹  ‘I’ll promise you blessings of wine and beer,’ ²  he would be just the right preacher for these people! ³ 

but ¹  nothing ritually unclean ²  will ever enter into it, nor anyone who does what is detestable ³  or practices falsehood, ⁴  but only those whose names ⁵  are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

The one whose deeds are blameless and whose motives are pure, ¹  who does not lie, ²  or make promises with no intention of keeping them. ³ 

When someone comes to visit, ¹  he pretends to be friendly; ²  he thinks of ways to defame me, ³  and when he leaves he slanders me. ⁴ 

May the arrogant be humiliated, for they have slandered me! ¹  But I meditate on your precepts.

Those prophets are just prophesying lies. They are prophesying the delusions of their own minds. ¹ 

Is there any falsehood ¹  on my lips? Can my mouth ²  not discern evil things? ³ 

For he ¹  knows deceitful ²  men; when he sees evil, will he not ³  consider it? ⁴ 

I do not associate ¹  with deceitful men, or consort ²  with those who are dishonest. ³ 

Remove me from the path of deceit! ¹  Graciously give me ²  your law!

and no lie was found on their lips; ¹  they ²  are blameless.

At whom are you laughing? At whom are you opening your mouth and sticking out your tongue? You are the children of rebels, the offspring of liars, ¹ 

The Lord says, ¹  “These people are like soldiers who have readied their bows. Their tongues are always ready to shoot out lies. ²  They have become powerful in the land, but they have not done so by honest means. ³  Indeed, they do one evil thing after another ⁴  and do not pay attention to me. ⁵
