The fountains of the deep and the floodgates of heaven were closed, ¹  and the rain stopped falling from the sky.

For he had healed many, so that all who were afflicted with diseases pressed toward him in order to touch him.

All the stars in the sky will fade away, ¹  the sky will roll up like a scroll; all its stars will wither, like a leaf withers and falls from a vine or a fig withers and falls from a tree. ²

For this reason, if food causes my brother or sister to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause one of them ¹  to sin.

For the ground that has soaked up the rain that frequently falls on ¹  it and yields useful vegetation for those who tend it receives a blessing from God.

If a false ¹  witness testifies against another person and accuses him of a crime, ²

They ¹  are dark ²  because of ice; snow is piled ³  up over them. ⁴

Calamity is ¹  hungry for him, ²  and misfortune is ready at his side. ³ 

They come in as through a wide breach; amid the crash ¹  they come rolling in. ² 

For I am about to stumble, and I am in constant pain. ¹
