“I will grant this people favor with ¹  the Egyptians, so that when ²  you depart you will not leave empty-handed.

But the time is coming when I will send men against Moab who will empty it out. They will empty the towns of their people, then will lay those towns in ruins. ¹  I, the Lord, affirm it! ² 

You should not turn aside after empty things that can’t profit and can’t deliver, since they are empty. ¹
