Then the crowd came up and began to ask Pilate to release a prisoner for them, as was his custom. ¹ 

Now on ¹  the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a large crowd met him.

Again he began to teach by the lake. Such a large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat on the lake and sat there while ¹  the whole crowd was on the shore by the lake.

“You must not follow a crowd ¹  in doing evil things; ²  in a lawsuit you must not offer testimony that agrees with a crowd so as to pervert justice, ³ 

Because of the crowd, he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him so the crowd ¹  would not press toward him.

Jesus knew at once that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched my clothes?”

Because he wanted to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them. Then, ¹  after he had Jesus flogged, ²  he handed him over ³  to be crucified.

He ¹  was trying to get a look at Jesus, ²  but being a short man he could not see over the crowd. ³ 

Then he called the crowd to him and said, ¹  “Listen and understand.

After instructing the crowd to sit down on the ground,

But this rabble ¹  who do not know the law are accursed!”

for a crowd of people ¹  followed them, ²  screaming, “Away with him!”

But he passed through the crowd ¹  and went on his way. ² 

But ¹  since they found ²  no way to carry him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof ³  and let him down on the stretcher ⁴  through the roof tiles ⁵  right ⁶  in front of Jesus. ⁷ 

Now when Jesus saw a large crowd ¹  around him, he gave orders to go to the other side of the lake. ² 

As he got out he saw the large crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

During the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd, ¹  whomever they wanted.

Now ¹  Jesus ²  went home, and a crowd gathered so that they were not able to eat.

Then ¹  he called the crowd again and said to them, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand.

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus ¹  from one town after another, ²  he spoke to them ³  in a parable:
