But there was not a man among these who had been ¹  among those numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest when they numbered the Israelites in the wilderness of Sinai.

This is evidence of God’s righteous judgment, to make you worthy ¹  of the kingdom of God, for which in fact you are suffering.

For he has come to deserve greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house deserves greater honor than the house itself!

But ¹  the Levites, according to the tribe of their fathers, ²  were not numbered ³  among them.
