He led them with a cloud by day, and with the light of a fire all night long.

He spread out a cloud for a cover, ¹  and provided a fire to light up the night.

Then ¹  a voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. ²  Listen to him!” ³ 

So ¹  the one seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.

Then ¹  I looked, and a white cloud appeared, ²  and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man! ³  He had ⁴  a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

Whenever ¹  I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,

I remove the guilt of your rebellious deeds as if they were a cloud, the guilt of your sins as if they were a cloud. ¹  Come back to me, for I protect ²  you.”

He conceals ¹  the face of the full moon, ²  shrouding it with his clouds.

He spoke to them from a pillar of cloud; ¹  they obeyed his regulations and the ordinance he gave them.

Then ¹  they will see the Son of Man arriving in a cloud ²  with power and great glory.

He did not remove the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night from before the people. ¹ 

Moses went into the cloud when he went up ¹  the mountain, and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights. ² 

Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

When the cloud remained over the tabernacle many days, then the Israelites obeyed the instructions ¹  of the Lord and did not journey.

¹ On the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle of the testimony. ² 

So the Israelites set out ¹  on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud settled in the wilderness of Paran.

When ¹  the cloud departed from above the tent, Miriam became ²  leprous ³  as snow. Then Aaron looked at ⁴  Miriam, and she was leprous!

(The cherubim were standing on the south side ¹  of the temple when the man went in, and a cloud filled the inner court.)

After ¹  he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

For I do not want you to be unaware, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea,
