(For Jesus ¹  knew the one who was going to betray him. For this reason he said, “Not every one of you is ²  clean.”) ³ 

Noah built an altar to the Lord. He then took some of every kind of clean animal and clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. ¹ 

For you have said, ‘My teaching ¹  is flawless, and I am pure in your sight.’

You are clean already ¹  because of the word that I have spoken to you.

Sprinkle me ¹  with water ²  and I will be pure; ³  wash me ⁴  and I will be whiter than snow. ⁵ 

to teach when something is unclean and when it is clean. ¹  This is the law for dealing with infectious disease.” ² 

You must take with you seven ¹  of every kind of clean animal, ²  the male and its mate, ³  two of every kind of unclean animal, the male and its mate,

Then he must take off his clothes and put on other clothes, and he must bring the fatty ashes outside the camp to a ceremonially ¹  clean place,

However, a spring or a cistern which collects water ¹  will be clean, but one who touches their carcass will be unclean.

to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between the living creatures that may be eaten and the living creatures that must not be eaten.’”

But if the bright spot stays in its place and has not spread, ¹  it is the scar of the boil, so the priest is to pronounce him clean. ² 

then the priest will command that two live clean birds, a piece of cedar wood, a scrap of crimson fabric, ¹  and some twigs of hyssop ²  be taken up ³  for the one being cleansed. ⁴ 

and the priest is to offer ¹  the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. So the priest is to make atonement for him and he will be clean.

and he is to send the live bird away outside the city ¹  into the open countryside. So he is to make atonement for the house and it will be clean.

When the sun goes down he will be clean, and afterward he may eat from the holy offerings, because they are his food.

And whatever first ripe fruit in their land they bring to the Lord will be yours; everyone who is ceremonially clean in your household may eat of it.

You may eat it in your villages, ¹  whether you are ritually impure or clean, ²  just as you would eat a gazelle or an ibex.

However, Saul said nothing about it ¹  that day, for he thought, ²  “Something has happened to make him ceremonially unclean. Yes, he must be unclean.”

¹ Wash! Cleanse yourselves! Remove your sinful deeds ²  from my sight. Stop sinning!

Moreover, they will teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and show them how to distinguish between the ceremonially unclean and the clean. ¹
