But on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

During the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd, ¹  whomever they wanted.

Now on the third day there was a wedding at Cana ¹  in Galilee. ²  Jesus’ mother ³  was there,

to the praise of the glory of his grace ¹  that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son. ² 

You are to tell your son ¹  on that day, ²  ‘It is ³  because of what ⁴  the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

Then on the fifteenth day of the same month ¹  will be the festival of unleavened bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.

You must celebrate the Festival of Temporary Shelters ¹  for seven days, at the time of the grain and grape harvest. ² 

All the people followed him up, playing flutes and celebrating so loudly they made the ground shake. ¹ 

The people were delighted with their donations, for they contributed to the Lord with a willing attitude; ¹  King David was also very happy. ² 

On the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had dedicated the altar for seven days and celebrated the festival for seven more days.

Preparations were made, ¹  and the priests stood at their posts and the Levites in their divisions as prescribed by the king.

He displayed the riches of his royal glory and the splendor of his majestic greatness for a lengthy period of time ¹  – a hundred and eighty days, to be exact! ² 

For the music director; by the Korahites; a psalm. All you nations, clap your hands! Shout out to God in celebration! ² 

to announce the year when the Lord will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, ¹  to console all who mourn,

I will put an end to all her celebration: her annual religious festivals, monthly new moon celebrations, and weekly Sabbath festivities – all her appointed festivals.

At the celebration ¹  of their king, ²  his princes become inflamed ³  with wine; they conspire ⁴  with evildoers.

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over ¹  to be crucified.” ² 

But ¹  when the feast was over, ²  as they were returning home, ³  the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His ⁴  parents ⁵  did not know it,

Now while Jesus ¹  was in Jerusalem ²  at the feast of the Passover, many people believed in his name because they saw the miraculous signs he was doing. ³ 

So Jesus’ brothers ¹  advised him, “Leave here and go to Judea so your disciples may see your miracles that you are performing. ²
