and when they did not find his body, they came back and said they had seen a vision of angels, ¹  who said he was alive.

He gave ¹  her his hand and helped her get up. Then he called ²  the saints and widows and presented her alive.

Rather they had several points of disagreement ¹  with him about their own religion ²  and about a man named Jesus ³  who was dead, whom Paul claimed ⁴  to be alive.

and the one who lives! I ¹  was dead, but look, now I am alive – forever and ever – and I hold the keys of death and of Hades! ² 

At that time ¹  a man will keep alive a young cow from the herd and a couple of goats.

Leave your orphans behind and I will keep them alive. Your widows too can depend on me.” ¹ 

He asked them how they were doing. ¹  Then he said, “Is your aging father well, the one you spoke about? Is he still alive?”

He ¹  did not make this covenant with our ancestors ²  but with us, we who are here today, all of us living now.

May death destroy them! ¹  May they go down alive into Sheol! ²  For evil is in their dwelling place and in their midst.

The Lord both kills and gives life; he brings down to the grave ¹  and raises up.

But all the young women ¹  who have not had sexual intercourse with a man ²  will be yours. ³ 

While I am still alive, extend to me the loyalty of the Lord, or else I will die!

Now he is not God of the dead, but of the living, ¹  for all live before him.” ² 

As for the cities of these peoples that ¹  the Lord your God is going to give you as an inheritance, you must not allow a single living thing ²  to survive.

because this son of mine was dead, and is alive again – he was lost and is found!’ ¹  So ²  they began to celebrate.

even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved! ¹  –

And even though you were dead in your ¹  transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he nevertheless ²  made you alive with him, having forgiven all your transgressions.

He does not allow the wicked to live, ¹  but he gives justice to the poor.

and also seven ¹  of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, ²  to preserve their offspring ³  on the face of the earth.

May the Lord protect him and save his life! ¹  May he be blessed ²  in the land! Do not turn him over ³  to his enemies! ⁴
