Simon ¹  (whom he named Peter), and his brother Andrew; and James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, ² 

At daybreak ¹  there was great consternation ²  among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.

Then ¹  the Lord turned and looked straight at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, ²  how he had said to him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”

But Simon Peter was left standing outside by the door. So the other disciple who was acquainted with the high priest came out and spoke to the slave girl who watched the door, ¹  and brought Peter inside.

But Peter sent them all outside, ¹  knelt down, ²  and prayed. Turning ³  to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴ 

Peter ¹  said to him, ²  “Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.”

So he said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.

Peter ¹  said to him, “If they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away!”

He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and became anguished and distressed.

He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James, ¹  and John, the brother of James.

He spoke openly about this. So ¹  Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

Peter began to speak to him, “Look, ¹  we have left everything to follow you!” ² 

Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.”

Peter said to him, “Even if they all fall away, I will not!”

He took Peter, James, ¹  and John with him, and became very troubled and distressed.

Now ¹  while Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the high priest’s slave girls ²  came by.

When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked directly at him and said, “You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus.”

Then ¹  he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter ²  answered, ³  “The Christ ⁴  of God.”

Then ¹  Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for everyone?” ² 

Jesus ¹  sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover ²  for us to eat.” ³
