Does not the ear test words, as ¹  the tongue ²  tastes food? ³ 

Does he argue ¹  with useless ²  talk, with words that have no value in them?

my ¹  lips will not speak wickedness, and my tongue will whisper ²  no deceit.

Does he not see my ways and count all my steps?

For the ear assesses ¹  words as the mouth ²  tastes food.

The Lord laughs in disgust ¹  at them, for he knows that their day is coming. ² 

“As for your ancestors, where are they? And did the prophets live forever?

For where your ¹  treasure ²  is, there your heart will be also.

for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’ ¹ 

For where your treasure ¹  is, there your heart will be also.

Therefore what advantage does the Jew have, or what is the value of circumcision?

Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
