Then on the next morning Balak took Balaam, and brought him up to Bamoth Baal. ¹  From there he saw the extent of the nation.

All these blessings will come to you in abundance ¹  if you obey the Lord your God:

You will see the land before you, but you will not enter the land that I am giving to the Israelites.”

Saul and the Israelite army ¹  assembled and camped in the valley of Elah, where they arranged their battle lines to fight against ²  the Philistines.

As the sun was setting, a cry went through the camp, “Each one should return to his city and to his homeland.”

For a remnant will leave Jerusalem; survivors will come out of Mount Zion. The intense devotion of the sovereign Lord ¹  to his people ²  will accomplish this.

Isaiah ordered, “Get a fig cake.” So they did as he ordered ¹  and placed it on the ulcerated sore, and he recovered. ² 

In the east they settled as far as the entrance to the desert that stretches to the Euphrates River, for their cattle had increased in numbers in the land of Gilead.

The combined wingspan of these cherubim was 30 feet. ¹  They stood upright, facing inward. ² 

These were the ones who served the king, besides those whom the king placed in the fortified cities throughout Judah.

Now the city was spread out ¹  and large, and there were not a lot of people in it. ²  At that time houses had not been rebuilt.

The nations fell ¹  into the pit they had made; their feet were caught in the net they had hidden. ² 

When someone comes to visit, ¹  he pretends to be friendly; ²  he thinks of ways to defame me, ³  and when he leaves he slanders me. ⁴ 

But the king ¹  will rejoice in God; everyone who takes oaths in his name ²  will boast, for the mouths of those who speak lies will be shut up. ³ 

when he gave the sea his decree that the waters should not pass over his command, ¹  when he marked out the foundations of the earth,

Divide your merchandise ¹  among seven or even eight ²  investments, ³  for you do not know ⁴  what calamity ⁵  may happen on earth.

The oxen and donkeys used in plowing ¹  will eat seasoned feed winnowed with a shovel and pitchfork. ²
