In regard to the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but in regard to election they are dearly loved for the sake of the fathers.

so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another.

For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward. But if I do it unwillingly, I am entrusted with a responsibility.

But when the one ¹  who set me apart from birth ²  and called me by his grace was pleased

And all who will behave ¹  in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. ² 

From Paul, ¹  an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the saints [in Ephesus], ²  the faithful ³  in Christ Jesus.

For ¹  he chose us in Christ ²  before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished ³  in his sight ⁴  in love. ⁵ 

and to enlighten ¹  everyone about God’s secret plan ²  – a secret that has been hidden for ages ³  in God ⁴  who has created all things.

He must not be a recent convert or he may become arrogant ¹  and fall into the punishment that the devil will exact. ² 

No widow should be put on the list ¹  unless ²  she is at least sixty years old, was the wife of one husband, ³ 

No one in military service gets entangled in matters of everyday life; otherwise he will not please ¹  the one who recruited him.

From Jude, ¹  a slave ²  of Jesus Christ and brother of James, ³  to those who are called, wrapped in the love of ⁴  God the Father and kept for ⁵  Jesus Christ.

I will say to a young woman, ‘Please lower your jar so I may drink.’ May the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac reply, ‘Drink, and I’ll give your camels water too.’ ¹  In this way I will know that you have been faithful to my master.” ² 

If the place he ¹  chooses to locate his name is too far for you, you may slaughter any of your herd and flock he ²  has given you just as I have stipulated; you may eat them in your villages ³  just as you wish.

Then Samuel took a small container of olive oil and poured it on Saul’s ¹  head. Samuel ²  kissed him and said, “The Lord has chosen you ³  to lead his people Israel! You will rule over the Lord’s people and you will deliver them from the power of the enemies who surround them. Then the king of the north will advance and will build siege mounds and capture a well-fortified city. ¹  The forces of the south will not prevail, not even his finest contingents. ²  They will have no strength to prevail.

and the one who sent the goat away to Azazel ¹  must wash his clothes, bathe his body in water, and afterward he may reenter the camp.
